O Gov't Mule foi formado em 1994 por Warren Haynes (guitarra e vocal), Allen Woody (baixo) e Matt Abts (bateria).
Esse trio lançou 3 álbuns de estúdio e 2 ao vivo até que, em agosto de 2000, Allen Woody foi encontrado morto numa suíte de hotel.
Dando seqüência à história do Gov't Mule, Haynes e Abts preferiram não substituir de imediato o falecido Woody e, para gravar os álbuns seguintes, convidaram um baixista para cada música.
O resultado foi o lançamento de "Deep End, Vol.1" em 2001, "Deep End, Vol.2" em 2002 e, finalmente, "Deepest End- Live In Concert" em 2003, o registro de uma apresentação com mais de 5 horas de duração em New Orleans.
São esses 3 álbuns que estão disponíveis nessa postagem.
Três observações:
1) Marquei apenas os baixistas que participam de cada faixa, mas os álbuns trazem outras participações especialíssimas como Gregg Allman, Derek Trucks, Jerry Cantrell, Chuck Leavell, Art Neville, Sonny Landreth, Bela Fleck e outros.
2) "Deep End, Vol. 2" traz 3 faixas bonus, sendo "Drivin' Rain" a mais interessante por contar com vocais de James Hetfield do Metallica.
3) Em "Deepest End- Live In Concert", metade da apresentação saiu no formato de cd e a outra metade em DVD. Aqui, o pacote está quase na íntegra, com os 2 cds e o rip do áudio do DVD.
